1310 News: Rally for cheaper internet for low income families

OTTAWA – An anti-poverty group will rally and march on Thursday in the hopes of getting cheap internet.

ACORN organized the march, that leaves from the Human Rights Monument, and says they would like to see high speed internet for low income Canadians offered for $10 a month.

Organizer Robert Fitzpatrick said that those who don’t make much need the internet to look for jobs and for educational programs.

The march kicks off at 11 a.m. and will make its way through the downtown core until around 2 p.m.
